SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 271

Commending the Suffolk Christian Academy junior varsity girls' basketball team.

Agreed to by the Senate, February 19, 2025

WHEREAS, the Suffolk Christian Academy junior varsity girls' basketball team finished the 2024-2025 season with a perfect 8–0 record, demonstrating an incredible degree of skill and discipline; and

WHEREAS, led by head coach Kristy Cornette and assistant coach John Sullivan, the Suffolk Christian Academy Knights overcame numerous talented opponents, often recovering from a deficit or making clutch plays in the final moments of a game to secure victories; and

WHEREAS, Suffolk Christian Academy's Hallie Crawford, Emery Garza, Jamielyn Pippin, and Harper Sullivan led the team and the conference in the stat lines and were excellent examples for their younger teammates both on and off the basketball court; and

WHEREAS, the Suffolk Christian Academy Knights were supported by a dedicated team of coaches and staff members, as well as family members, friends, and the entire school community; and

WHEREAS, every member of the Suffolk Christian Academy Knights played with focus, intensity, and an unshakeable commitment to one another over the course of the season, setting a high standard for future teams to emulate; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That the Suffolk Christian Academy junior varsity girls' basketball team hereby be commended for achieving an undefeated season in 2024-2025; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Kristy Cornette, head coach of the Suffolk Christian Academy junior varsity girls' basketball team, as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for the team's athletic achievements.
