Commending My Cravingz.

WHEREAS, My Cravingz, a family-owned Turkish bakery and restaurant in Manassas, has served numerous customers from its current location on Sudley Road for five years; and

WHEREAS, My Cravingz traces its roots to mid-2016, when Leyla Yildizci began baking traditional Turkish baked goods to sell at a newly opened Turkish grocery store; the original batch, which included a few Turkish-style bagels and stuffed pastries, quickly expanded to a larger, weekly order that became unmanageable in the Yildizci family's home kitchen; and

WHEREAS, Leyla Yildizci moved the operation to a commercial bakery, and members of the community began to purchase baked goods directly from the new location and request times for breakfast reservations; and

WHEREAS, Leyla Yildizci recognized that the business needed to adapt to meet the needs of its customers and worked with a local real estate agent to purchase a dining and retail space, which opened for business at the end of 2020; and

WHEREAS, despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, a host of loyal customers flocked to My Cravingz, which has become a beloved local gathering place, bringing people of all backgrounds together for delicious food and fellowship; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That My Cravingz hereby be commended on the occasion of its fifth anniversary of service to the community from its current location; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Leyla Yildizci, founder of My Cravingz, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the restaurant's commitment to excellence and best wishes for future success.
