Celebrating the life of Ella Wease Tucker Jarrett.

WHEREAS, Ella Wease Tucker Jarrett, an esteemed minister, beloved mother and grandmother, and cherished member of the Emporia community, died on December 3, 2024; and
WHEREAS, born and raised in Greensville County, Ella Jarrett was guided throughout her life by her faith, and her kind and compassionate spirit and unwavering devotion to Christ inspired countless others on their spiritual journeys; and
WHEREAS, Ella Jarrett enjoyed worship and fellowship with several congregations in Emporia in her lifetime, including Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, the Glorious Church of God in Christ, St. Matthews House of Prayer, and the Salt of the Earth Ministry under pastor Jerry Powell; and
WHEREAS, Ella Jarrett enthusiastically shared the gospel with her community and radiated her faith in all she did, whether over the airwaves of WEVA radio, while styling clients' hair in her kitchen, or during compassionate visits to nursing home residents; and
WHEREAS, preceded in death by her husband, Otis, Ella Jarrett will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her children, Bobby, Beverly, Connie, Clayton, and Carlton, Sr., and their families and by numerous other family members and friends, including 28 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 34 great-great-grandchildren, and six great-great-great grandchildren; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Ella Wease Tucker Jarrett, a revered member of the Emporia community whose compassion and dedication to her faith inspired all who knew her; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Ella Wease Tucker Jarrett as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for her memory.
