Commending the Herndon Village Network.

WHEREAS, the Herndon Village Network, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Herndon senior citizens with free transportation and other services, celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025; and

WHEREAS, the Herndon Village Network is part of the growing village movement, in which community-based, nonprofit, grassroots organizations form in various localities to help individuals age independently and in their homes; and

WHEREAS, the Herndon Village Network serves elderly individuals who are no longer able to manage all aspects of their daily lives, limiting their ability to affordably tend to their needs and to maintain active and enriching lives; and

WHEREAS, the Herndon Village Network coordinates volunteers who drive members to their doctor appointments, shopping trips, restaurant outings, and more, contributing greatly to their quality of life; and

WHEREAS, the Herndon Village Network has become a vital resource for members of the Herndon community since it was established and an important part of what makes Herndon a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Herndon Village Network on the occasion of its 10th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Penny Halpern, President of the Herndon Village Network Board as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the organization's mission and best wishes for its continued success.
