Commending Doug Robbins.

WHEREAS, Robbins Landscaping, a premier residential landscaping contractor founded by Doug Robbins in Chester, has offered high-end maintenance, enhancements, and design and build services to clients for 35 years; and

WHEREAS, Doug Robbins is a 1984 graduate of Thomas Dale High School, where he played basketball, football, and golf; after graduating from the University of Mary Washington, he returned to Chester to establish his own business; and

WHEREAS, Robbins Landscaping thrived under the leadership of Doug Robbins, providing the highest possible level of service to clients and exemplifying the values of dedication, integrity, and commitment to quality; and

WHEREAS, in early 2023, Doug Robbins transitioned the business after serving as president for 35 years, prioritizing the well-being of his employees and customers by selecting a buyer with industry expertise to carry forward the company's legacy of excellence; and

WHEREAS, outside of his career, Doug Robbins has also been a champion for his alma mater, Thomas Dale High School, supporting numerous athletics programs through his volunteer leadership and expertise; and

WHEREAS, Doug Robbins began volunteering with setup for Thomas Dale High School football games in 2010, then began helping with maintenance of the football field in 2012; he has since rejuvenated and maintained football, soccer, baseball, softball, field hockey, lacrosse, and practice fields; and

WHEREAS, in addition, Doug Robbins has served as president of Thomas Dale High School's booster organization, the Knight Club, since 2020, guiding fundraisers that have generated more than $14,000 to support student-athletes; and

WHEREAS, among many awards and accolades, Doug Robbins was the first “contributor” honoree in the Thomas Dale High School Ring of Champions, recognizing his unparalleled generosity, and he received the 2023 Snead Stebbins Award from the Chester Business Association; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Doug Robbins be commended for his outstanding contributions to the field of residential landscaping as the founder of Robbins Landscaping and his exceptional service to Thomas Dale High School; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Doug Robbins, founder of Robbins Landscaping, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his legacy of excellence and best wishes for the company's continued success under new leadership.
