Commending Pradip Dhakal.

WHEREAS, Pradip Dhakal, an esteemed public servant and active and engaged member of the Herndon community, concluded his tenure on the Herndon Town Council in 2024; and

WHEREAS, Pradip Dhakal immigrated to Herndon from Nepal in 2012 and works as an information technology professional and federal contractor managing projects for the United States Department of Health and Human Services; and

WHEREAS, Pradip Dhakal joined the Herndon Town Council in 2019 and over three terms served as chair of the Herndon Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, which he helped establish, and as the town's representative on the Fairfax County Economic Advisory Commission; and

WHEREAS, Pradip Dhakal fostered growth and development in Herndon by supporting the creation of the Mason Small Business Development Center and made the locality more welcoming for all by encouraging an increase in affordable and workforce housing; and

WHEREAS, as a member of the Herndon Advisory Committee for the Harraseeket Foundation, Pradip Dhakal facilitated the launch of an initiative to assist Herndon High School seniors through mentoring, internships, and career guidance; and

WHEREAS, throughout his tenure on the Herndon Town Council, Pradip Dhakal has advocated for promoting the safety, inclusivity, walkability, affordability, and prosperity of the community, helping to make Herndon a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Pradip Dhakal as he concludes his tenure on the Herndon Town Council; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Pradip Dhakal as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for his contributions to Herndon and the Commonwealth.
