Commending Lane Elementary School.

WHEREAS, for 30 years, Lane Elementary School of Fairfax County Public Schools has made an impact in the community by creating a productive and respectful learning environment in which its students may grow and thrive; and
WHEREAS, Lane Elementary School opened in September 1995 and was named in honor of Anthony T. Lane, who was a prominent advocate for children in the community and served on the Fairfax County School Board for 24 years; and
WHEREAS, guided by its motto, “Communicate, Collaborate, and Care,” Lane Elementary School empowers its students to become lifelong learners who are capable of building and maintaining positive relationships and challenges them to reach their full potential both in and out of the classroom; and
WHEREAS, with a commitment to educational excellence, Lane Elementary School implements a variety of programs to meet its students' needs, such as Young Scholars, its advanced academics services, English for Speakers of Other Languages, and after-school foreign language programs; and
WHEREAS, Lane Elementary School champions its faculty and staff and provides assistance and guidance to help them utilize successful instructional practices and optimize their lessons in the classroom; and
WHEREAS, Lane Elementary School promotes a welcoming and inclusive community at the school through its positive behavior support program called "Peace, Attitude, Work, Safety," ensuring the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students; and
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Lane Elementary School over the past 30 years are the result of the efforts of its students, the dedication of its teachers and staff, and the unwavering support of its families, parent-teacher association, and the entire Lane Elementary School community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Lane Elementary School on the occasion of its 30th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Lane Elementary School as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the school's history and its contributions to the Commonwealth.
