Commending Juan Salguero.

WHEREAS, Juan Salguero, an esteemed employee with the City of Falls Church, has greatly served the Falls Church community for more than 25 years; and

WHEREAS, Juan Salguero came to the City of Falls Church on September 20, 1999, and was originally hired as a member of the maintenance crew that is now known as the Urban Forestry department; and

WHEREAS, Juan Salguero demonstrated a passion for working with greenspaces, particularly plants and other small native vegetation, and delighted his coworkers with stories and explanations of horticultural practices in his native Guatemala; and

WHEREAS, more recently, Juan Salguero has served as a maintenance worker for the City of Falls Church, primarily at the Falls Church Community Center; and

WHEREAS, Juan Salguero carries out his professional obligations with great pride and dedication and goes beyond the call of duty to help many of the Falls Church Community Center's Spanish-speaking patrons access the center's services and programming; and

WHEREAS, Juan Salguero has been unwaveringly consistent and helpful throughout the several phases of the development of the Falls Church Recreation and Parks Department, supporting the department's success and enhancing its value to the community; and

WHEREAS, Juan Salguero has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to the well-being of Falls Church and its residents throughout his career, earning him the praise and admiration of all Virginians; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Juan Salguero hereby be commended for his 25 years of service with the City of Falls Church; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Juan Salguero as an expression of the House of Delegates' high regard for his contributions to Falls Church and the Commonwealth.
