Commending Tyler William Warren.

WHEREAS, Tyler William Warren, a native of Mechanicsville and a graduate of Atlee High School, won the 2024 John Mackey Award for his exceptional achievements as a tight end with the Pennsylvania State University football team; and

WHEREAS, during his time at Atlee High School, Tyler Warren was a talented multi-sport athlete who earned all-region selection in baseball, basketball, and football; he was a four-year letterman in football, was the captain of the football team three times, and was selected as the most valuable player of the football team in 2017 and 2019; and

WHEREAS, Tyler Warren was the starting quarterback of the Atlee High School football team in his senior season and amassed 1,149 passing yards, 677 rushing yards, and 14 touchdowns; and

WHEREAS, Tyler Warren matriculated at Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) in 2020 and made 50 career appearances with the football team, including 25 starts, over the next four years; and

WHEREAS, playing tight end for the Penn State Nittany Lions, Tyler Warren recorded 116 career receptions for 1,414 yards and 16 receiving touchdowns, along with six rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown; he holds the university record for touchdowns by a tight end with 22; and

WHEREAS, as the starting tight end during his senior season, Tyler Warren helped lead the Penn State Nittany Lions to a 13–3 record and a trip to the semifinals of the College Football Playoff; and

WHEREAS, Tyler Warren declared his eligibility for the 2025 National Football League Draft and is considered one of the top prospects in the draft class; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Tyler William Warren hereby be commended for receiving the John Mackey Award as the most outstanding tight end in college football; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Tyler William Warren as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his athletic achievements and best wishes for continued success.
