AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE

A BILL to direct the Virginia Disability Commission to review, in collaboration with the Department of Education and local school divisions, how to best identify and evaluate the physical accessibility challenges that exist in public elementary and secondary schools for those with disabilities.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That the Virginia Disability Commission is directed to review, in collaboration with the Department of Education and local school divisions, how to best identify and evaluate the physical accessibility challenges that exist in public elementary and secondary schools for those with disabilities. Such review shall identify best practices for improving such challenges and the findings and recommendations of such review shall be reported to the Chairs of the Senate Committee on Education and Health and the House Committee on Education by November 1, 2025.
