Celebrating the life of Shirley Kenneth Jones.

WHEREAS, Shirley Kenneth Jones, a highly admired resident of King and Queen County who gave back to his community in a number of ways, died on January 2, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Jones made his career as a carpenter and gave generously of his time and talents to enhance the lives of others; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Jones was active with Mattaponi Crime Solvers, the Upper King and Queen Ruritan Club, the local Republican Party, and the York Academy PTO; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Jones enjoyed fellowship and worship with the congregation of Mattaponi Baptist Church, where he held several leadership positions; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Jones will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his beloved wife of 36 years, Roberta; his children, Patricia, Nancy, David, and Shirley, and their families; his stepdaughter, Tracy, and her family; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of Virginia hereby note with great sadness the loss of Shirley Kenneth Jones, a respected member of the King and Queen County community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Shirley Kenneth Jones as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's respect for his memory.
