Commending Richard Halas.

WHEREAS, Richard Halas, an educator and wrestling coach at Hopewell High School, achieved his 100th career victory as a coach in January 2025; and

WHEREAS, Richard “Rich” Halas has been a coach for the boys' and girls' wrestling teams at Hopewell High School for 14 years; and

WHEREAS, Rich Halas has shown extraordinary dedication to his students and an unwavering commitment to their academic, social, and emotional well-being; and

WHEREAS, Rich Halas works hard to instill confidence in his students, listening and practicing empathy to ensure their success; and

WHEREAS, Rich Halas has embodied the virtues of an educator and coach, earning the praise and admiration of all Virginians; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Richard Halas of Hopewell High School hereby be commended for his 100th victory as a coach; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Richard Halas as an expression of the House of Delegates' high regard for his accomplishments in service to young people of the Commonwealth.
