Commending the Rotary Club of Forest.

WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Forest, a distinguished chapter of Rotary International, one of the largest service organizations in the world, has admirably served the Forest community for many years; and

WHEREAS, chartered in 2003 as Club 61205 of District 7570, the Rotary Club of Forest offers its members the opportunity to cultivate lasting friendships, grow personally and professionally, and learn more about their communities and the world while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others; and

WHEREAS, the members of the Rotary Club of Forest have shown an extraordinary commitment to the Rotarian motto, “Service Above Self,” through their various charitable endeavors both in Forest and throughout the world; and

WHEREAS, for several years, the Rotary Club of Forest has created its Field of Honor display to honor the nation's veterans and first responders, assembling more than 1,000 flags to pay tribute to their courage and sacrifice; and

WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Forest has promoted the health and welfare of many by supporting the playground at the Forest Public Library, local street cleaning efforts, and the Meals on Wheels of Greater Lynchburg's birthday boxes program; and

WHEREAS, the selfless and indefatigable efforts of the members of the Rotary Club of Forest have helped to make Forest a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Rotary Club of Forest hereby be commended for its legacy of service; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Rotary Club of Forest as an expression of the House of Delegates' high regard for the organization's contributions to the Commonwealth and best wishes for its future endeavors.
