Commending Tommy Scott.

WHEREAS, Tommy Scott, a leader in custom cabinetry and home furnishings in the Lynchburg area, has been a part of his family's business, Scott's Cabinet, for 50 years; and

WHEREAS, Scott's Cabinet was founded in 1955 by Ercy Lee Scott, who was guided by his passion for woodworking to become a cabinet maker and created a workshop in a small garage; and

WHEREAS, as Scott's Cabinet grew, Ercy Lee Scott's sons, Paul, Tommy, and Garnett joined the family business, and the original workshop was expanded numerous times until a new 8,000-square-foot building was constructed in 1979; and

WHEREAS, Scott's Cabinet added two additional buildings in 1989 and 1992 to continue to meet the needs of its customers; and

WHEREAS, under Tommy Scott's leadership, Scott's Cabinet offers custom cabinets, factory cabinets by Marsh, and full remodeling services, including cabinet fitting, electrical and plumbing installation, tile work, and flooring; and

WHEREAS, Tommy Scott has ensured that Scott's Cabinet upholds its legacy of excellence as a trusted, family-owned business; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Tommy Scott hereby be commended for his 50 years of service with Scott's Cabinet in Lynchburg; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Tommy Scott as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his professional achievements and contributions to the local community.
