SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 244

Commending the Rotary Club of Woodbridge.

Agreed to by the Senate, February 13, 2025

WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Woodbridge, a distinguished chapter of Rotary International, one of the largest service organizations in the world, has admirably served the Greater Prince William County community for 60 years; and

WHEREAS, chartered in 1965 as Club 5849 of District 7610, the Rotary Club of Woodbridge offers its members the opportunity to cultivate lasting friendships, grow personally and professionally, and learn more about their communities and the world while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others; and

WHEREAS, the members of the Rotary Club of Woodbridge have shown an extraordinary commitment to the Rotarian motto, “Service Above Self,” through their various charitable endeavors both in Prince William County and throughout the world; and

WHEREAS, the Rotary Club of Woodbridge supports a number of local and international charities and initiatives, including Good Shepherd Housing Foundation, Action in Community Through Service, End Polio Now, the Arc of Greater Prince William, The Salvation Army, Shelter Box, PolioPlus, the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington, and Boxes of Basics; and

WHEREAS, the selfless and indefatigable efforts of the members of the Rotary Club of Woodbridge have helped to make Prince William County a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That the Rotary Club of Woodbridge hereby be commended on the occasion of its 60th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Rotary Club of Woodbridge as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's high regard for the organization's contributions to the Commonwealth and best wishes for its future endeavors.
