Commending Citrus.

WHEREAS, Citrus, an employee-owned restaurant in Virginia Beach, has provided nourishing breakfast and lunch fare to local residents and visitors for nearly 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Citrus was established by the late Cheri Shores and her husband, Lance, who were pioneers in the local brunch movement; and

WHEREAS, with its delicious, classic dishes made from the finest fresh ingredients, Citrus thrived and cultivated a loyal following of regular customers; and

WHEREAS, Citrus also garnered national acclaim when it was featured on the Food Network show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives; and

WHEREAS, with two locations on North Great Neck Road and Shore Drive, Citrus has become a beloved local gathering place; and

WHEREAS, in 2022, Citrus became an employee-owned business to ensure that employees have a stake in the restaurant's ongoing success and continue to uphold its commitment to excellence; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Citrus hereby be commended for its nearly 20 years of service to the community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Citrus as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for its contributions to the vibrant local economy of Virginia Beach.
