Commending Mizuno Japanese Restaurant.

WHEREAS, Mizuno Japanese Restaurant, a family-owned business in Virginia Beach, has provided artfully composed seafood dishes to local residents and visitors for nearly three decades; and

WHEREAS, established in 1996, Mizuno is owned by chef Wataru Mizuno, who completed a rigorous culinary apprenticeship under Teruo Sato in Tokyo, Japan, and Beverly Chen, whose years of expertise in front-of-house operations have helped create the best possible dining experience; and

WHEREAS, Wataru Mizuno focuses on using proper techniques to craft elegant dishes that accentuate the flavors of fresh local ingredients such as shrimp, yellowfin tuna, bluefin tuna, flounder, blue crabs, and oysters; and

WHEREAS, Mizuno has also evolved to meet local tastes and trends, offering specialty rolls and Italian crudo in addition to traditional sushi and unique interpretations of classical dishes; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Mizuno Japanese Restaurant hereby be commended for nearly 30 years of service to the community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Mizuno Japanese Restaurant as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for its contributions to the vibrant local economy in Virginia Beach.
