Commending Jim Thompson.

WHEREAS, in 2025, Jim Thompson retired from the architectural and engineering firm Thompson & Litton as a senior project manager after more than four decades of outstanding service in a variety of leadership roles; and

WHEREAS, Jim Thompson joined Thompson & Litton in 1981 and has been a cornerstone of the organization since that time, serving as construction contract administrator, vice president of project management, vice president of business development and marketing, director, owner, and chair of the board of directors; and

WHEREAS, since 1984, Jim Thompson also managed the Tazewell office of Thompson & Litton, where he inspired his colleagues as a dedicated leader and a trusted mentor; and

WHEREAS, through his visionary management and commitment to excellence in all endeavors, Jim Thompson has left Thompson & Litton well prepared to meet the challenges of the future; and

WHEREAS, after his well-earned retirement, Jim Thompson will continue to serve the Commonwealth by overseeing the East River Mountain Tunnel and the Big Walker Mountain Tunnel on a part-time basis through TOM, LLC; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Jim Thompson on the occasion of his retirement from Thompson & Litton; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jim Thompson as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for his legacy of professional achievements.
