Commending Kevin Armstrong Paredes.

WHEREAS, Kevin Armstrong Paredes, a native of South Riding, represented the Commonwealth at the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad in Paris, France, as a member of Team USA in the Men's Olympic Football Tournament; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Paredes began his soccer career with Bethesda Soccer Club and the D.C. United Academy; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Paredes made his professional debut with the D.C. United reserve team, Loudoun United FC, in 2019, then joined Major League Soccer as a homegrown player with D.C. United in 2020; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Paredes subsequently joined VfL Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga, where he has continued to hone his skills as a versatile left wing-back since 2022; and

WHEREAS, after several appearances with the United States U-17 Men's National Team, Kevin Paredes made his debut with the senior national team in 2023; he was also named the 2023 U.S. Soccer Young Male Player of the Year; and

WHEREAS, in the 2024 Summer Olympics, the United States Men's Olympic Soccer Team finished second in the group stage, with Kevin Paredes scoring two goals in the group stage match against Guinea that secured the team's trip to the quarterfinals; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Kevin Armstrong Paredes hereby be commended for his performance as a member of the United States Men's Olympic Soccer Team at the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Kevin Armstrong Paredes as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his outstanding athletic achievements and best wishes for the future.
