Celebrating the life of Russ Adams.

WHEREAS, Russ Adams, a local weatherman in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria who delighted the readers of his website with his wit and wisdom, died on October 31, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Russ Adams previously worked as a patent examiner and supervisor at the United States Patent and Trademark Office for 34 years until his retirement in 2004; and

WHEREAS, in recent years, Russ Adams gained local notoriety by posting weather updates for Alexandria's Del Ray community on social media; and

WHEREAS, what began as simple notifications about rain grew into a comprehensive study of rainfall totals, rainfall predictions, and lightning strike tracking on Russ Adams' website, Del Ray VA Weather; and

WHEREAS, Russ Adams built a strong local following thanks to his depth of knowledge, keen insights, and responsiveness to questions about the weather; and

WHEREAS, Russ Adams will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by numerous family members, friends, and weather watchers in Del Ray; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Russ Adams, a beloved local weatherman in Alexandria; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Russ Adams as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
