Commending Persian Rugs & More.

WHEREAS, over the course of more than 25 years, Persian Rugs & More in Lynchburg has become one of the region's premier destinations for high-quality, authentic handwoven rugs; and
WHEREAS, Persian Rugs & More was established by Hossein Rezai, a former electrical engineer, and Dawn Rezai, a former biology teacher, after the couple developed a passion for fine rugs during a trip to Turkey; and
WHEREAS, impressed by both the cultural aspects of traditional rug-making and the exceptional skill it takes to create a rug that is a functional home furnishing, a work of art, and an heirloom that can last decades, Hossein and Dawn Rezai changed careers and opened Persian Rugs & More on Wards Road in 1998; and
WHEREAS, not long after, the couple moved Persian Rugs & More to a larger space in the Boonsboro Shopping Center, which served as its flagship location for more than two decades; and
WHEREAS, Persian Rugs & More offers a vast selection of Persian, Turkish, Chinese, Moroccan, Indian, and Kazakh rugs, as well as cleaning, repair, and restoration services; Hossein and Dawn Rezai have proudly become trusted experts who can identify a rug by the feel of its texture, knots, and bindings, building strong relationships with their loyal customers; and
WHEREAS, in 2023, Hossein and Dawn Rezai decided to relocate Persian Rugs & More to a brand new 1,500-square-foot facility on Chapel Lane, streamlining their operations with a larger showroom and an on-site cleaning facility that gives customers a unique opportunity to view the cleaning and restoration process firsthand; and
WHEREAS, Hossein and Dawn Rezai have grown Persian Rugs & More into a vital part of the business community in Lynchburg and have helped countless individuals and families become a part of a centuries-old tradition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That Persian Rugs & More hereby be commended for more than 25 years of service to the Lynchburg community; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Hossein and Dawn Rezai, owners of Persian Rugs & More, as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for their expertise in the art of rug-making and contributions to the vibrant local economy.
