Commending the Hampton Roads Leadership Prayer Breakfast.

WHEREAS, the Hampton Roads Leadership Prayer Breakfast, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and annual event that convenes a variety of Christian leaders from across the Hampton Roads Region, celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025; and
WHEREAS, the Hampton Roads Leadership Prayer Breakfast provides an invaluable opportunity for elected officials, faith leaders, and citizens to come together to pray and affirm their traditions and values; and
WHEREAS, over the past half-century, many prominent individuals from myriad fields have spoken before the Hampton Roads Leadership Prayer Breakfast, including Roger Staubach, Johnny and June Carter Cash, the Reverend Jerry Falwell, John D. Ashcroft, Meadowlark Lemon, Pat Robertson, and J. Randy Forbes; and
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears was the keynote speaker at the most recent Hampton Roads Leadership Prayer Breakfast event on November 14, 2024, at the Chesapeake Conference Center in Chesapeake; and
WHEREAS, the efforts of the Hampton Roads Leadership Prayer Breakfast are made possible through the generous support of the event's sponsors, including a number of distinguished businesses and organizations from throughout the region; and
WHEREAS, by enabling an event in which different corners of the community may gather to honor their faith, the Hampton Roads Leadership Prayer Breakfast has made a profound and lasting impact on the Hampton Roads Region; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Hampton Roads Leadership Prayer Breakfast hereby be commended on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to representatives of the Hampton Roads Leadership Prayer Breakfast as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the organization's history and contributions to the Commonwealth.
