WHEREAS, John Lee Orrock, an accomplished farmer, former water treatment plant supervisor for Spotsylvania County, and a beloved member of the Spotsylvania County community, died on September 17, 2024; and
WHEREAS, born at Mattameade Farm in Woodford, John Orrock served in the United States Army, worked for several years in the construction trades, and also dedicating himself to the arduous task of raising beef cattle; and
WHEREAS, John Orrock went on to retire as the supervisor of a Spotsylvania County water treatment plant, where he worked tirelessly to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of his community; and
WHEREAS, John Orrock was the consummate outdoorsman who loved every moment he spent in the beautiful environs of Spotsylvania and Caroline Counties; and
WHEREAS, preceded in death by his son, Robert, John Orrock will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his children, Virginia and John II, and their families and by numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of John Lee Orrock, a cherished member of the Spotsylvania County community whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of John Lee Orrock as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
