Commending the Clover Volunteer Fire Department.

WHEREAS, for 75 years, the Clover Volunteer Fire Department has been foundational to the safety and well-being of Halifax County, providing essential firefighting and emergency services to its residents; and
WHEREAS, founded on August 16, 1949, by a group of 20 charter members, including its first president, James R. Cardwell, the Clover Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) is the second oldest fire department in Halifax County; and
WHEREAS, the CVFD's operations began with a 1921 Seagrave pumper truck housed in a tobacco warehouse, and within its first five years, the CVFD responded to more than 100 fire calls; and
WHEREAS, over the years, the CVFD has continually enhanced its capabilities by acquiring state-of-the-art firefighting and rescue equipment, improving its ability to respond efficiently and effectively to emergencies; and
WHEREAS, the CVFD has expanded its services to meet the evolving needs of the community, including the establishment of an emergency medical technician certification program and active participation in Halifax County's Emergency Medical Services First-Responder program; and
WHEREAS, the growth and success of the CVFD are the result of the tireless dedication of its members and the steadfast support of the local community; and
WHEREAS, the CVFD has been invaluable to the safety, security, and prosperity of Halifax County for the past 75 years, earning the recognition and respect of all Virginians; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Clover Volunteer Fire Department hereby be commended on the occasion of its 75th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Clover Volunteer Fire Department as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the organization's history and dedication to service.
