Commending Fredericksburg Comic Con.

WHEREAS, for nine years, Fredericksburg Comic Con has promoted community engagement and fostered an appreciation for the creative arts in the region; and

WHEREAS, Fredericksburg Comic Con traces its roots to the establishment of Fredcon, which was founded by Sam Ellis in 2016 and held in the Spotsylvania Mall for two years; and

WHEREAS, Mike Federali expanded the event in 2018 and renamed it the Fredericksburg Comic and Toy Show which, after years of growth, ultimately became Fredericksburg Comic Con in 2024; and

WHEREAS, Fredericksburg Comic Con is a cornerstone of cultural and artistic expression in the region, attracting fans, creators, and vendors from across the Commonwealth and beyond; and

WHEREAS, Fredericksburg Comic Con provides a platform for local artists, writers, and entrepreneurs to showcase their talents and products, contributing to the cultural and economic vitality of the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, Fredericksburg Comic Con has cultivated an inclusive and welcoming environment and encourages participants to explore their creativity through cosplay, storytelling, and artistic endeavors, while fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie among attendees; and

WHEREAS, over the past nine years, Fredericksburg Comic Con has inspired countless individuals, known as Fredzillas, to pursue their passions in the arts, sciences, and entertainment industries, and has served as a hub for education and innovation through its diverse programming; and

WHEREAS, the tireless efforts of organizers, volunteers, and participants have ensured the continued success of Fredericksburg Comic Con, making it a signature event in the region; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Fredericksburg Comic Con hereby be commended for its outstanding contributions to the cultural and economic landscape of the region on the occasion of its ninth anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the organizers of Fredericksburg Comic Con as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration and appreciation for their dedicated service to the Fredericksburg community and promotion of the creative arts.
