Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 8.01-44.01 as follows:

§ 8.01-44.01. Action for trespass; GPS; private road or driveway.

A. In any civil action for trespass upon the property of another, if a defendant in such action relied upon a global positioning system (GPS) resulting in such trespass, the owner or operator of such GPS may be added as a party to such action.

B. When a person operating a motor vehicle enters a private road or driveway, as defined in § 46.2-100, that has a clear and noticeable sign indicating that such road is a private road or driveway, such person is liable for trespass upon such private road or driveway.
