Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That the Department of Medical Assistance Services (the Department) shall amend 12VAC30-50-226 of the Virginia Administrative Code to remove the prohibition that crisis stabilization services for nonhospitalized individuals cannot be provided in institutions for mental disease. The Department shall seek all necessary federal approval to effectuate such change. The initial adoption of such amendments shall be exempt from the provisions of the Administrative Process Act (§ 2.2-4000 et seq.).

2. That an emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
