A BILL to direct the Department of Health to develop guidance directing local health districts and local health departments to evaluate and recommend administrative solutions prior to issuing a revocation for a valid septic or well permit.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. The Department of Health shall develop guidance directing local health districts and local health departments to evaluate and recommend administrative solutions to problems with a valid septic or well permit prior to issuing a revocation for such valid septic or well permit. Such guidance shall require that, if a revocation for such a permit is issued, the local health district or local health department shall include a statement with such revocation indicating the reason that no administrative solution is possible. Such guidance shall provide methods for addressing and resolving common septic or well permitting issues proactively as well as working collaboratively with applicants for such a permit to prevent denials or revocations of such a permit while adhering to existing regulatory requirements.
